Power solutions for desert mining operations in Chile
PROJECT
PRAMAC has been selected by a company specialized in mining and mineral transportation, located in Chile, to take part to a project based in the middle of the Atacama desert, approximately 1000 km north of Santiago. The request was for a modular power operating with low maintenance costs, optimized fuel consumption and with standard protection against dust produced in the operation. To ensure power, PRAMAC has supplied 8 diesel generators running for up to 18 hours a day during mining operations, and producing more than 4,5 megawatts of electricity. Each of the PRAMAC gensets has been provided to supply close to 600 kilovolt-amperes for the mining machinery and the other electrical equipment.
